Youth Leadership Institute

Learn how to create respect & equality for ALL people in Orange County

Our annual Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) brings together diverse students from high schools across Orange County to participate in activities, dialogues and skill building exercises about human relations and social justice issues. Students learn the skills to organize youth, take a stand against hate and injustice and create schools and communities that are safe and equitable for ALL.

“I loved learning about community building and ways to take action in our communities. I also made a ton of connections with other participants!”

Youth Leadership Institute grads have the opportunity to join the Human Relations Ambassadors’ Program (HRAP) a youth leadership group. As someone who wants to go into the social justice and public policy work I am really excited to see what I can do for my community with the skills I gained from this week.
